Day 1: Bled - Arrival in Slovenia

This is the first part of your week-long road trip to Slovenia! Bled, the most picturesque place in Slovenia is the perfect way of starting off on your trip. This is the most photographed and the most famous places in this European land.

For quite some centuries, this Alpine lake has been the only island located in Slovenia. It has been considered as the paradise for most travelers for its beauty, special powers to restore well-being and the wealth of legend. You would have the most delighting experience seeing the Lake from the castle on a traditional boat, “Pletna”.

One of the most perfect ways to get familiar with some of the best tourist attractions of Bled is riding or strolling around through the lake. There is a path of around 6 km around the Lake and it gives travelers to a great opportunity to click pictures. Lake Bled is one of the tourist places in Slovenia that attracts travelers from different parts of the world.

 

Day 2: Exploring Bled

This is your second day in Bled, Slovenia and you’ll be enjoying the perfect scenery around the lake. This part of the day and you’ll be starting off with a Pletna boat ride to Bled Island after breakfast and everything.

And, if you are high on energy, you can hire a row-boat and row it on your own. In Bled Island, you can visit the church. There are a lot of things to explore today. Watching out the shops, particularly the one which is selling the local produce, strolling around the gardens and stopping by the coffee shops will be a great way of spending this day.

After this, you are going to head towards Bled Castle where you’ll definitely go back in time. From the top, you will be getting an opportunity to enjoy the perfect view of the Julian Alps and the lake. At the end of your day’s trip just enjoy your dinner at the Bled Castle.

 

Day 3: Bled

There is a lot to discover here in Bled! The natural beauty with which it is surrounded is incredibly great. After enjoying your morning breakfast, you can start off your other day’s trip to Bled. Visiting the nearby Triglav National Park is going to be your spot of the day.

Then you move on by hiking to the Mala Osojnica! From here you are going to get one of the most stunning views of the place. It’s going to be a quick hike and you are going to be awarded really amazing things once you reach the top.

You’ll be starting your hike on the West side of the lake. This trail is going to take you directly to the viewpoint and during most part of your trail, you are going to be under the shade of the trees. On the shore of  Lake Bohinj at Ribcez Laz, you’ll be seeing the Church of John the Baptist.

 

Day 4: Bled to Ljubljana

This part of a week-long road trip to Slovenia and you’ll be traveling to Ljubljana from Bled. It is going to take around 35 minutes to reach your destination! Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia is considered to be one of the gems of the country. The best thing about this part of the country is that the vibes here are friendly and relaxed and a days time is enough to explore all of it. Some of the best places to visit in Ljubljana are Dragon Bridge, architect Jose Plecnik’s buildings, the Triple Bridge, Ljubljanica Rive, and the Ljubljana Castle.

Today you have to cover all these tourist attractions and so, we recommend you start off a little earlier in the morning. At the end of this day, don’t forget visiting the Open Kitchen food market (if your trip has been planned in May & October). Here you’ll get to see a variety of delicious local produce being sold.

 

Day 5: Ljubljana to Piran

This day you are going to travel to Piran from Ljubljana! It is a journey of 1 hour and 25 minutes. On your way, you can stop by to enjoy some of the best tourist attractions of Slovenia. It takes just 35 minutes to drive down to one of the most popular Postojna Caves from Ljubljana. The cave has around 27 kilometers of an underground tunnel. Further, you can drive down for around nine km to reach to one of the best tourist attractions of Slovenia, the 700 years old Predjama Castle.

Continuing your journey further, you’ll be stopping by the Lipica Stud Farm near Sezana. It is considered the home of white Lipizzaner, the popular attractions of Vienna’s Spanish Riding School.

Your final destination for the day is going to be the beautiful seaside town of Piran! Once you reach here, just get into your hotel, relax, find some time to stroll in the vicinity of the Old Town reveling at the excellent Venetian-inspired architecture.

 

Day 6: Piran - Exploration

This part of a week-long road trip to Slovenia will be dedicated to exploring the beautiful city of Piran is the best thing. Today, explore some of the best tourist attractions of Piran including the medieval town walls, the Church of St. George, and Tartini Square.

From the tower of the church, you can enjoy the most fantastic view of the city and its coastline. And, if you have some extra time, you can easily explore the seaside towns because Slovenia has a coastline of just 47 km. Other popular places to visit in Piran, Slovenia are Portoroz, Izola, and  Koper.

 

Day 7: Departure
