The Best Off-The-Grid Getaways

If you ever had a moment where you wanted to take a vacation from vacationing, then read on! Here we will discuss some exciting places to go when you simply need to unplug from the rest of the world. Here are some of the world’s best off-the-grid getaways in some of the most beautiful places on earth.

Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa
Yes, there are many hotels in Scottsdale that are great for keeping under the radar. The Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa, however, is the newest one. The Andaz is a mid-century modern structure in the midst of 23 acres of desert wildflowers, saguaro cactus, and tall pine trees.
They have 201 rooms and at the spa, guests can actually create their own personal beauty balms from indigenous botanicals. The resort has a partnership with the neighboring 1936 Cattle Track Arts Compound and visitors can enjoy a studio tour or an artist-led lecture if they’re so inclined. The Andaz is located at 6114 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, Arizona in the U.S.

Dar Ahlam--La Route du Sud
The Dar Ahlam resort is a favorite of those who like to get off the grid. They now have a six-night driving tour too. It’s called La Route du Sud. It includes five different destinations and three private retreats. The purpose of the adventure is to highlight the morphing landscapes of the rather isolated area of southern Morocco, one specific property at a time.
Up first is the hillside high Maison des Arganiers which is located approximately two and a half hours away from Marrakech. (No word yet on whether or not there is an “express”, music fans. Google if you missed the joke.)
Maison des Arganiers is part of a rock-laden landscape and looks out on seemingly countless miles of argan groves.
The next retreat is booked at the noteworthy La Maison de l’Oasis, which is aptly relaxingly nestled in (duh) an oasis of palms. The last private destination is La Maison Rouge, which can be found at the edge of a crimson canyon. As the trip progresses from one retreat to the other you will enjoy nomadic campouts, beach picnics, and scenic drives through the imaginatively dramatic desert dunes of Morocco.

Meghauli Serai

Meghauli Serai is poised along the banks of the wandering Rapti River in Chitwan National Park. It is managed by Taj Safaris. It is reported to be the hot spot for observing over 550 species of birds and 68 different kinds of mammals including great one-horned rhinoceroses, leopards, and Royal Bengal tigers.

They have 30 rooms available and the villas all have notably Nepalese influences such as sturdy, wood-beamed ceilings and plush comfy cushion covers made from organic banana fabric. It is located in Nepal which is a mere half-hour flight out of Kathmandu.

Madagascar is home to an incredibly diverse variety of life. It includes over 11,000 plant species, and almost 90 percent of the wildlife in this African island country cannot be found anywhere else in the world. While the most nation can be found nowhere else.
Situated in Nosy Ankao, Miavana is a private island resort just off Madagascar’s northeastern coast. The villas are what experts call “sustainably designed” and start at almost 5,000 square feet. The resort offers marine safaris and snorkeling but the real draw, however, is the popular wildlife encounters. Miavana specializes in guided hikes to see the native species like silky sifaka and jeweled chameleons.
