The Best Hotel Bars Around The World 2
If you take a lot of short trips you’re no stranger to hotel bars. Sometimes your trip is short. Sometimes you’re just too tired to explore the local nightlife. In either case, if you want a drink, you simply stop in at the hotel bar. Here are more of the best hotel bars around the world.
The NoMad Hotel
The duo behind New York’s famous Eleven Madison Park restaurant, Daniel Humm, and Will Guidara have made The NoMad Hotel a preferred destination for discerning diners. They have a special bar cart that is actually brought to your table. It comes complete with artisanal bitters, mixers, recipe cards, a drawer of ice cubes and a bottle of your choice so you can actually create your own custom concoction. It was designed by Jacques Garcia who modeled it like his former flat in Paris. At night, the two-tier mezzanine area becomes a lounge. You can find this Hotel bar at 1170 Broadway, New York City, New York.
King Cole Bar
The King Cole Bar has been a part of John Jacob Astor IV’s midtown St. Regis motel since 1948. It’s praised for its opulence. The dramatic entrance is highlighted by a 30 foot by 8 foot Maxfield Parrish mural of (who else?) Old King Cole above the burnished mahogany bar. The mural has actually been at the hotel since 1932 (prior to the bar’s opening). It was restored in 2007 and adds to the bar’s overall atmosphere. The bar has a deserved cinematic setting as it has been included in such motion pictures as Hannah and Her Sisters and The Devil Wears Prada. In an interesting contrast, while it has this overall grandeur, the glowing, mysterious lights still give the place an intimate feel. It has a comfy feel to it thanks to the leather banquettes, soft carpeting, and critically-acclaimed service. Keep in mind the crowd it is generally well-heeled and upscale. Not only was the Bloody Mary invented here but this is also said to be a great place for crowd-watching. You can pretend there are power plays and secret, sexy liaisons going on in the dark, dim recesses of the popular bar. Mind you, bring your credit cards because the alluring atmosphere does not come cheap and you’ll need to wear business attire too. You can find the bar at 2 E 55th St, New York City, New York.
The Cosmopolitan's Vesper Bar
The Vesper Bar is praised for being one of the best lobby bars in all of Las Vegas. The bar serves innovative cocktails in a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. Interestingly, although it is literally between the casino floor and the reception area, there is no rush or pressure to order anything. The seating is both ample and comfortable and it’s a great common meeting spot to get together before going to a poolside concert or dinner on the third floor. You’ll find the place at 3708 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada.
