The Best Hotel Bars Around The World

If you take short trips you’re no stranger to hotel bars.  Sometimes your trip is short.  Sometimes you’re just plain tired.  In either case, if you want a drink you patronize the hotel bar.

Top of the Standard

The Top of the Standard features a famous “floor-to-ceiling” view of the Big Apple.  It also includes some massive chandeliers, too.  The adjacent lounge, also know as the Boom Boom Room, is reportedly the grandest bar in a metropolis that takes pride in doing things big.  Hit it prior to 10 p.m. though because that’s when they close to the public and host private parties.  It’s located at 848 Washington Street in New York City, New York.

Bather's Bar

The Bather’s Bar is said to be just the place to go after a hot, sticky day in the city.  The venue features an art deco, black and white-striped infinity pool.  Take a seat in one of the white chaise lounges on their croquet-perfect strip of grass lawn.  Enjoy the view of boats chugging up and down the Chao Phraya River.  It is situated on Khao Road in Wachira Phayaban, Dusit in Bangkok, Thailand.

Hotel Jerome

The Hotel Jerome has been luring European aristocrats and New York City socialites through its doors since it opened in 1889.  It’s highlighted by what some call its “rough-and-tumble mountain swagger” ambiance which contrasts with its inclusion of such modern amenities as electricity and indoor plumbing.  Four years ago designer Todd-Avery Lenahan completed his five-month renovations on the nearly 100-room hotel. The building still retains the original front desk and the tile floors have Ute Indian weaving-inspired patterns.  It also has a new lobby bar known as the Living Room, offers special craft cocktails and is decorated with mining artifacts, mounted deer heads and a proudly displayed, framed antique American flag.  The hotel can be found at 330 East Main Street in Aspen, Colorado.

On the Rocks at Eden Rock Hotel

The On the Rocks bar at the Eden Rock Hotel has a most memorable setting.  Numerous critics and guests note that this is the best place in all of the Caribbean to check out the sunset than this patio bar cantilevered over the sea.  Indeed, the views over the St. Jean Bay beg to be Instagrammed providing you can set down your cold, frosty mai tai long enough to take a picture. The glamorous restaurant and bar offer fine cuisine with a reputed exotic touch that they promise will bring magic to both plate and palate.  Reservations can even be made online thanks to the cooperative efforts of Eden Rock and OpenTable.  Check out their exceptional menu from Jean-Georges Vongerichten.  It can be found on the Baie de Saint Jean in St. Jean Bay in St. Barths.

Not to be confused with similarly-named establishments, this D.O.M. is an under-the-radar little hideaway in the historic district of Rome.  It’s moody, dimly lit Deer Club is generally teeming with enough native Italians to make anyone think they’re working as a featured extra in a classic Fellini film.  Make certain to sample the Trebbiano D’abruzzos on their popular regional wine list.  You’ll discover this well-kept secret at 00186, Via Giulia, 131, 00186 in Rome, Italy.
