If You Are On A Budget Go To The 5 Dollar Food Festival

Did you spend too much money on your vacation?  Are you on a budget?  Are you one of those people who simply enjoy a bargain no matter how well you’re doing financially?  Then you should check out The $5 Dollar Food Festival - OC in Oak Canyon Park (located at 5305 Santiago Canyon Road) at Irvine Lake in Silverado, California on Saturday, July 16, 2016.

Event Details

The “rain or shine” fun starts at 12 noon and runs until 7 p.m.  This event is promoted as a fun, family-friendly day complete with food, drink, and music.  In a recent post via Facebook, the unnamed hosts of the budget bash offered an open invite to the event.  They invite one and all to join them a what they call "a mobile food extravaganza" which will include food booths, food carts and food trucks which will be selling a number of international food items for $5 per dish.  The music and DJ-provided music are free.

Naturally, the main highlight of the event will be the famous “$5 Food Plates”.  All of the food vendors in attendance will offer food plates for $5.00 (plus tax).  The event hosts add that if anyone does not receive a receipt for their food purchases, money will be refunded and the food plate will be free.  “All vendors are required to provide you a receipt for each and every transaction. Otherwise, they have to give you the meal for free.” They also note that there will be a variety of beverages available both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.  Specifically, they will offer beer on tap, wine and plenty of Hubert's Lemonade, soda and bottled water.  Attendees interested in purchasing any alcoholic beverage must be over the age of 21.  Current, valid photo ID will be required.

Ticket Pricing

General Admission Tickets are $5.00.  This includes access to the event beginning at 12 noon. Early Access Passes are $10.00.  This includes early access to the event at 11 a.m.  The event hosts also guarantee that “food will be available from all vendors”.  These tickets help avoid “the crowds, food running out, and long lines at the drink areas.” VIP Passes are $40.00.  This includes “Early Access”, five drink tickets, and exclusive access to the VIP-only areas, including the VIP Bar.  The event hosts conclude: The hosts of the event will only offer 2,500 GA Admission Tickets, 500 Early Access Passes and 500 VIP Passes for online pre-sale. If the activity reaches full capacity, they will close pre-sales and then only sell tickets at the gate.  For more information check out this website.

Mode Of Payment

The majority of vendors will only accept cash.  ATMs will, however, be available on site for those who prefer to carry only plastic.  The hosts of the event also posted their “Appetite Satisfaction Guarantee” which essentially states that they will have enough food available for everyone to fill up on and if they should fail at this then they will gladly refund the price of admission.  Children 12 and under are admitted free.
