1 - The Anne Frank Museum
The Anne Frank Museum is located on canal called the Prinsengracht, close to the Westerkerk in central Amsterdam. It is a writer house and dedicated to wartime diarist Anne Frank who hid from Nazi persecution with her family and four other people. She did not survive the war but her war diary was published in 1947. The museum opened up on 3 May 1960. In 2013 and 2014 it was the 3rd most visited museum in the Netherlands, had 1.2 million visitors visited the museum.
