In order to get the best out of any trip and not specifically the Uganda trip, it’s important to relax your body and mind on the very first day of the trip. Hence, the moment you land on the international airport in Uganda, your guide will transfer you to your hotel room where you can relax for the rest of the day. In case, the arrival time is not in the evening but the mid-morning, you can roam around the hotel and check out the scenic views and top-attractions, nothing more. Keep the first day of your to relax your nerves as you will be needing them in the coming days of the trip.

Day 2-5: Into the Bwindi National Park

Bwindi National Park is the foremost place where every tourist is being taken to and you will be no different. The experience of witnessing the endangered primates of Bwindi is incredible. Your stay in the park for a couple of days gets you closer to them and this is what makes the trip to Uganda bigger and better. In the park, you will get to spot the mountain gorillas, the chimpanzees,  Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Grey-cheeked Mangabey and L’hoest’s Monkeys. So, do let your eyes soak with the spectacular views of lush green forests where these primates live with pride.

Wake up early in the morning to meet your guide at the entrance of the park from where he will take you to the inside of it. Before departing, the staff of the park will give you some instructions about the do’s and don’ts of the park. Do listen to them and follow the same when inside.

The trip starts with the exciting Uganda gorilla trekking. You will be on a hunt to spot the gorilla. With the help of your guide and a local bushman, you will be able to spot them soon. Don’t get worried, if unable to spot them in the first 20 minutes of the trek as you will have enough time to spend in the park. Once you have witnessed these old primates in front of you, the actual time allowed to stay in the park starts. You will have only 1 hour to spend with these gorillas which you can utilize admiring these silverback gorillas along with their families. Do not offer them anything to eat nor get too close to them. When in the park, it is recommended to stay at a distance of at least 7metre from the gorillas. Make sure you follow the same.

Things to do in the park, other than Uganda gorilla trekking, are many and to explore them all you will have to spend nights and days nearby. You can pot for camping in the park or can stay in one of the nearby lodges. This way, you will wake up every morning with the sounds of the birds and maybe the hoots of the gorillas and sleep stargazing under the sky.

The rest of the days can be utilized exploring the other areas of the park. Your guide will assist you in finding the top attractions in the park including the waterfalls, swamps, rivers -all with a high level of wildlife concentration throughout.

Day 6-7: Queen Elizabeth Park

If Bwindi National Park is for imperious silverback gorillas, the Queen Elizabeth Park is for the Big Five. No African trip is complete without spotting big five and so will be yours. In order to taste the wilder side of Africa, you will head straight to the deep and lush-green forests of Queen Elizabeth Park where Big 5, with more than 10 species of primates, and countless birds reside. In addition to the wildlife opportunities, there are many cultural encounters with local communities, whose people will entertain you with dances, music, and storytelling. There are a lot of activities which you can do while exploring the park and they are birding, visiting Bat Caves, Chimp Tracking, Game Drives, Hiking and Nature Walks. You have two days to explore the park, so plan accordingly.

Day 8-9: Murchison Falls National Park

Africa is a country of diverse and beautiful landscape and you are lucky enough to explore it all. One of the stunning landscapes of Uganda is the famous  Murchison Falls National Park. It is located at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley where the rushing waters flow from the Nile River is forced to pass through a narrow gorge resulting into a thunderous roar.  The waters plunge 45 meters over the remnant Rift Valley wall and the views are unequivocally picturesque. You will visit this stunning waterfall to capture some pictures for a lifetime memory.

Murchison Falls is a beautiful place to spend time in. However, when it comes to the wildlife, there are a few animals you will find missing from this incredible park and the endangered black and white rhinos are among them. To fill the gap, you will stop at Ziwa sanctuary to meet the animals who no more exist in the Murchison Falls National Park. You will need to rent an experienced ranger who will take you to the hidden routes that are mostly visited by animals like elephants, lions, chimpanzees, hippos, and buffalos. This is the best way to explore the wilder side of the park which is next to awesome.
