Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: The majestic Victoria Falls

Victoria falls is a legendary waterfall that impresses all the senses. It has a roar of thunder and feels like hundreds of tons of water droplets are hitting the ground every second. You can not imagine how standing in front of it would feel until you visit it personally. This natural legend deserves to be the first destination of your ultimate Zimbabwe safari.

Day 2: Lodging around the river Zambezi while watching hippos

Prepare yourself for the upcoming safari days by relaxing and lounging around the river Zambezi. Watch the hippos quarreling and taking bath along the side of the river. You may also get a chance to spot the baboons who occupy the surrounding trees. Do not forget to spot the Nile crocodiles sunbathing at the banks of the river.

Day 3-5: A visit to the Hwange National Park

The day three of your trip will be a real beginning of the safari. On this day, you will be visiting the classic and the wild Hwange National Park. You will see herds of lions, buffalos, and wildebeests and believe us, it is way too wilder than you can imagine. Hwange National Park is the land of predators, big cats, epic herds of wildebeest and zebra. See the lions lounging about, manes fluttering on the breeze and cubs playfully resting on mothers’ paws. Spend three days in the park and explore the wildlife by game driving, see the late afternoon sunset in the camp and much more.

Day 6-7: Have a delightful safari at Mana Pools National Park

If Hwange national park is for exploration and adventure, then Mana Pools is for feeling the charm and compact natural habitat. Mana Pools National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that makes game viewing wonderfully easy. Four pools of the park make it a complete water park populated by rumbustious hippo pods. The Zambezi River flows along the park’s northern edge, connecting it with Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park across the water. Do not miss to experience the amazing game drives and bush walks in the mystical landscapes of Mana Pools national park.

Day 8: Lake Kariba (Matusadona National Park) – Tranquility Along the Water and Safari Drama in the Bush

After exploring the wild and the majestic places of Zimbabwe, it’s time to feel the tranquility and Lake Kariba serves this purpose very well.  There’s less game in the lake, and you can easily spend the day simply watching the rippling water, admiring what is one of the world’s largest man-made lakes. After watching so much wild in the 7 seven days, Lake Kariba is the getaway that brings you back down to earth. Spend two to three days here and enjoy the relaxed safari around Riviera.
