The statute commemorates the Declaration of Independence and the gateway of immigrants entering New York. It has become an iconic symbol for both New York and the United States.

Another famous landmark is the Empire State Building, located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. This 102-story landmark was the world's tallest building in New York for more than forty years, starting from its completion in 1931 until the World Trade Center's North Tower was completed in 1972. The Empire State Building was named one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the third tallest skyscraper in the Americas. Its observation deck has been the most popular outdoor observations in the world, with over 110 million visitors recorded.

Times Square in New York City has been the epicenter of Arts and Entertainment, home to Broadway, Musical Theatre, and nightlife. It has been a popular destination during New Year's Eve celebrations, where the infamous dropping of the Crystal Ball as a celebration of welcoming the New Year. The neon bright lights and massive digital billboards make this spot a very playful attraction.
