Guangzhou is a sub-provincial city located in southern China, a prosperous metropolis full of vigor, and is the capital city of Guangdong province. Legend has it that more than 2,000 years ago, Gangzhou was a barren land with people who were suffering from famine despite of hard labor. One day, five immortals came riding on five rams, playing their music. The rams held sheaves of rice in their mouth and the immortals left the sheaves of rice for the Guangzhou people, gave blessings and left the city. The rams turned into stone and the city became a rich a populous place.

Another famous landmark of Guangzhou is the Pearl River. The Pearl River is China's third longest river, with a length of 1,243 miles (about 2,000 km) and the second largest by volume. The name Pearl River is said to derive from a huge boulder in the river bed. This rock, with the name of 'Sea Pearl,' is so round and smooth that is looks like a large, shining pearl. This boulder is now in the bank, due to the river's change of course.

The White Cloud Mountain (Baiyun Mountain) is one of the most famous spots concerning natural beauty in Ghangzhou. The wreath of airy clouds appear every time the sun shines after the rain that circles the mountain and this is how White Cloud Mountain has won its name. It is also an ideal place for people to relax for it has six areas that are popular with visitors and they filled with natural hills and waters.
