Bangalore is the capital of the southern part of Karnataka, which is one of the states in India. Bangalore is India's third most populous city. It is home to some of the most high tech industries in India, thus called, the 'Silicon Valley' of India. It is also home to some India's premier scientific establishments and also has good climate, parks and gardens, lakes, architectural landmarks, and business opportunities.

Bangalore is the third most populous city in India, with an estimated population of 5.8 million in 2001 and 28th most populous city in the world. According to the 2001 census of India, 79.37% of this city's population is Hindu and 13.37% of the population is Muslim. Christians and Jains account for 5.79% and 1.05%, respectively.

Bangalore experiences a distinction of wet and dry seasons. Due to its high elevation, Bangalore usually enjoys a more moderate climate throughout the year, with some occasional heat waves may happen in the summer. The coolest month is January with an average low temperature of 59 degrees F (15.1 degrees C) and April as the hottest month with an average high temperature of 92 degrees F (33.6 degrees C). Bangalore received rainfall during the months of September, October, and August, in that order. The summer heat is moderated by fairly frequent thunderstorms, which cause power outages and flooding.

This city is not only known for its high tech reputation but also full of historical spots for visitors. One of which is the Bangalore Palace & Fort, which the Fort was built by Kempe Gowda and a well preserved 16th century Ganapathi Temple is located within those walls. The Palace was built by a Wodeyar King in 1887 and was inspired by the Windsor Castle.

The Lal Bagh is a well known botanical garden and was commissioned by the ruler of Mysore, Hyder Ali in 1760. It has a glass house which house over 1,000 species of flowers which include rare and enchanting collection of tropical plants, trees, and herbs. The Glass House, modeled along London's Crystal Palace, built by James Cameron, is the center of attraction and hosts its bi-annual flower shows attracting participants from all over India. In the recent years, the Lal Bagh Glass House has now become a heritage monument.

Bangalore is also the home to the Kannada Film Industry, which makes out about 80 Kanna movies every year. It is also a major center of Indian classical music and dance and recitals are widely held throughout the year particularly during the Ramanavami and Ganesha Chaturthi festivals.
